Academic Excellence

• Our Vidyalaya was inaugurated with the benedictory of Swami Tapasyananda Maharaj, President RK Mutt, Mylapore on 1st June 1977.
• The school commenced in June 1977 in a small rented house with 174 children.
• A Bhoomi pooja was preformed for High School building on 5th May 1981.
• Our High School building was inaugurated by His Excellency S.L.Khurana, the then Governor of Tamilnadu on 26th April 1983.
• The authorities from CBSE came for inspection on 19th July 1985 and affiliation was granted on 30th September 1985.
• A Bhoomi pooja was performed for Primary Block 18th February 1989 and Gruhapravesam was held on 7th June 1990.
• The computer section was inaugurated on 13th April 1991.
• The CBSE officials came for inspection for Senior secondary upgradation on 17th October 1992 and the approval was obtained on the same day.
• Free medical center was also inaugurated on 24th December 1992.
• The Silver Jubilee Inauguration of our vidyalaya was celebrated in a very grand manner with the august presence and benediction of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, on Tuesday, the 3rd July 2001
• Silver Jubilee Valedictory of our Vidyalaya was celebrated on 17.10.2003 in the presence of Dr.Vallabhai Katharia, the then Hon. Minister for Human Resource Development and Swami Bodhamayananda of RK Math.
• Bhoomi Pooja of our Child School at Mathur was performed on 23.4.05.
• Our II child School at Theeyambakkam was started on 11.6.2007 with Pre.KG to V std.
• ‘Vyasa Viveka – A newsletter’ highlights the events and functions of our Vidyalaya is released during republic day celebrations every year.
• Inauguration of Sri. Harigopal Agarwal Indoor Auditorium & Smt. Parvathibai Rathan Chand Solanki Block on 27th August 2008 by Swami Gauthamanandaji Maharaj, President RK Mutt, Mylapore.
• Our school web site www.smtndjavvschool.org. was launched by our Alumnus on 26.1.11.
• Our teachers are honoured Best Teacher Award by various reputed Educational Institutions.
• Our school has been assigned the status of Examination Centre of AISSE by CBSE for conducting X std Board Examination from the academic year 2010-11.
• Our school was the venue for CBSE South Zone Taekwondo Championship from 8th to 10th October 2011. Our students won prize at the National level.
• The Silver Rolling Trophy for the best maintenance of school garden was awarded to our school by the Mylapore academy on several occasions.
• SMS(Short Message Service) was initiated in the academic year 2011-12.
• Installation of CCTV was done in the academic year 2012-13.
• Our Principal was the Chair person of west Chennai Sahodaya Cluster schools for two years from 2010 to 2012.
• Our school won “SWAMI VIVEKANANDA SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE” award initiated by CBSE in connection with 150th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The award comprising of Rs.10,000/- was received by Sri.N.Rajendra Kumar and Sri. Vinod Kumar Pandey along with two students R.Dinesh and S.Dhalpat XI B on 25.1.13 at New Delhi and they participated in the Republic Day celebrations on the subsequent day in New Delhi.
• Smt. R. Sethubai, Principal was honoured the CBSE Best Principal Award with Rolling shield and certificate by Sri .N. Basha, Justice, High Court by Mylapore academy during its 57th Annual day celebrations on 30.10.11.
• Sri. Srawan Kumar Todi, Hon. Correspondent, was honoured Rajasthani Shree award by Rajasthan Association for his meritorious and social service at Chennai on 17.04.11.
